In Vancouver, Consulate General of India celebrates India Day or Independence Day of India every year. Acting consulate general unfurls the Indian national flag at the Consulate, National Anthem is sung and excerpts from the President of India’s address is read out. The address also includes showcasing Government of India’s achievements. Cultural event is also organized and patriotic songs are sung. The event is not open for public, it is an invite only event.

How to Celebrate Indian Independence Day or India Day in Metro Vancouver?

There are a few public events organized to celebrate India Day in Metro Vancouver. One of the biggest event celebrating India Day is coming up in Surrey, BC hosted by the United Indian Cultural Association, where 25+ Indian Associations across Metro Vancouver under one roof are coming together to celebrate culture, community & unity.

The Event is taking place from 12pm – 10pm at Bill Reid Amphitheatre Park in Cloverdale, Surrey. It is going to be the whole day program of Indian food, Bazaar, & cultural performances. If you live in around Vancouver Surrey area, you do not want to miss this free mega Indian cultural event.
