On September 22, 2026, Vancouver’s Indian community came together in Burnaby for an evening of prayer, music, devotion and compassion to stand in solidarity with the people of Nepal during this difficult time.
The evening began with two minutes of silence to remember the lives lost in the Nepal flash floods and to offer prayers for everyone affected by the tragedy.
The first musical offering of the evening was Praan & Bhakti with Vasundhara & Friends. Their soulful bhajans and devotional music created a peaceful atmosphere filled with prayer and reflection.
The energy then shifted as Priyesh Dhoolab & Friends led the second set with an energetic Kirtan. The community joined in singing and chanting together, filling the hall with devotion and positive energy.
The evening concluded with the collective chanting of the Hanuman Chalisa. Everyone came together in one voice, making it a powerful and meaningful way to close the gathering.
The evening was about much more than music. It was about standing together as one community and showing support for Nepal through faith, prayer and compassion.
Every prayer, every voice and every contribution made a difference.
ICA Vancouver sincerely thanks all the artists, volunteers, supporters and community members who joined us and helped make this evening so meaningful.
Together, through faith and compassion, we stood with Nepal and with the families who lost their dear ones and some are still waiting for the answers.
