World Hindi Day – विश्व हिन्दी दिवस

World Hindi Diwas – विश्व हिन्दी दिवस or International Hindi Day is celebrated on January 10 every year. World Hindi Day is organized to promote Hindi language at global level. First World Hindi Sammelan was held on January 10, 1975 at Nagpur, India. The Union Government had started observing International Hindi Day since 2006. It will be 14th World Hindi Day celebrated in 2019.

Hindi is widely spoken in Mauritius, Fiji, Surinam, Trinidad, United Arab Emirates (Dubai), England, America and wherever Indians have settled. Hindi is widely spoken in most of these countries.

Hindi is a native language for most people living in following states of India: Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Chhattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, and Rajasthan which is called Hindi Heartland or Hindi Belt where Hindi is spoken in various dialects.

World Hindi Day Celebrations in Vancouver:

Consulate General of India – Vancouver, BC is organizing an event to celebrate Vishwa Hindi Diwas 2024 on January 10th. The event is only by invitation.
