This Garba event is for 3 days (Oct 7 – Oct 9, 2022) but members of our group are planning to go for Navratri Garba Night on Friday, October 7, 2022. Some of us are going on October 8th also but the tickets for October 8th are sold out online. Garba starts around 8pm and end around mid night. Kids under 10 are Free.
The ticket price does not include food but some food sponsors will offer free snacks. Food stalls will also be there to purchase food at a reasonable price. Let’s go together at this cultural event and enjoy the festival of Navratri 2022!

Namaste Canada is an initiative of Consulate General of India, Vancouver, BC, Canada, a Mega Cultural event where more than 25 Indian cultural societies, associations, & groups are come along to showcase the cultural art & performances on stage on September 3, 2022. BKSP brings unique fancy dress oratacular competition in Hindi and English for the age groups 5-10 years old and 11-16 years old. The event is supported by ICA Vancouver. Please register your child for this exciting event. Eight prizes to be won. Please find the registration details below:
RULES – Please note the following rules for the competition:
Fancy Dress and Speech/Poem are two different competitions
Hindi and English, both languages are allowed
A child can participate in both. A cultural theme is preferred
A child participating in Fancy dress would have to talk about his get-up and the character they are portraying and would be asked a question pertaining to the character they are portraying. Answer to the question would be one of the judging criteria
Criteria for judging a Fancy Dress Participant: Get-up, Originality, Poise, Presentation, Character selection, Answer to the question asked
Criteria for judging a Speech/Poem Participant: Body Language, Topic, Confidence, Subject knowledge, Presentation.

Yoga for eye care – the class offers a Yogic approach to eye exercises to maintain eye health. It is open for all age groups and can be done even while sitting on a chair, while using a mat is the preferred method.

Kavya Jyoti – An Evening of Indian Poetry in support of Gift Of Sight project of Friends For Cause Foundation. This event is organized with the support of Sahityodya, India.
Gift A Sight is a project to provide free cataract surgery to underprivileged people in India with challenging financial situations. FFCF selects them and then funds their cataract surgery in hospitals. Gift of Sight enables eye surgeries for less fortunate people of rural India, and in accordance with the directives of the Government of India.
Achievement:
2027 eye surgeries have been undertaken and over 10000 eyesight glasses have been distributed so far. 50000 people have been tested in these 100s of camps organized in rural India.
